Safety Orientation and Training
For 75 years, Vulcraft has been North America’s largest producer of open web steel joists, joist girders, steel deck and steel bar grating. The Norfolk division was Nucor Corporation’s second Vulcraft facility. It began operations in 1964. The Norfolk facility was chosen over 14 other sites because of the community’s strong values and good labor pools. A deck fabrication facility was added to the Norfolk division in 1977.
In 1979, Nucor enters the cold-finish market with a new mill in Norfolk, Nebraska. Nucor Cold Finish is the largest producer of cold finished bar products in North America. These facilities use hot rolled steel bar to produce cold drawn bar using a process known as drawing. Total annual capacity is 1,069,000 tons.
Our desire at VNE/NCF is to become a leader in safety for our teammates, customers, service providers, visitors, and contractors.
We want everyone who visits or works at Nucor to walk out with the same health they came in with. Zero Incidents…Zero Injuries!!!
